ASC Makes Senior Sales Hire to Drive European Growth

Florian Brimmers has joined Advanced Supply Chain (ASC), part of circular economy specialists Reconomy, as the retail logistics company targets pan-European growth.

In his new role as Sales Consultant, Florian will be responsible for supporting the continued success of ASC’s European operating facility in Nettetal, Germany. This will involve connecting omnichannel retailers with ASC’s pre-retail logistics services, as well as the company’s specialist returns processing solutions and freight forwarding and warehousing services.

A self-confessed ‘logistician from an early age’, Florian grew up with his family’s European flower transportation business, Spedition Reath GmbH & Co, and also has experience as a SAP transportation consultant. He’s previously supported the development and rollout of Lidl’s transport management system in Austria and Serbia and developed similar dispatch and fleet routing systems for a German builders merchants.

Commenting on his new role, Florian said: “ASC’s Nettetal facility is strategically located to provide retailers with a gateway to Europe, something that’s become even more crucial following changes to US tariffs. Exports from China are increasingly re-routing to Europe and ASC has the capabilities to help retailers manage the costs and speed of international shipping.

“Retailers across Germany and Europe are also aiming to boost sales by expanding product ranges by growing supplier networks and by targeting online shoppers in new countries. This is driving demand for services that can simplify inbound and outbound logistics, localise customer returns and improve supply chain sustainability. ASC, along with parent company Reconomy and sister business ReBound Returns, are well-positioned to meet this demand, which attracted me to joining the business.”

Since we opened the site in 2023, we’ve developed new services including Retail Ready – a pre-retail solution that gets goods to market quicker, while also embracing specialist Reconomy services, such as solutions that help retailers to manage textile Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations.

ASC invested £60million in opening its new European operating facility in Nettetal in July 2023. The site provides a range of value-added services covering pre-retail, returns processing, fulfilment, wholesale distribution, and transportation.
