ESE partners with Yorwaste to strengthen circular waste solutions across Yorkshire

Yorwaste, the largest waste management company in North Yorkshire and York, has announced a significant new partnership with ESE World (ESE), Europe’s leading manufacturer of sustainable waste management solutions. Through this strategic collaboration, Yorwaste will introduce over 2,000 bins made from post-consumer recycled plastic across its Yorkshire-wide operations – a key step in enhancing its environmental stewardship and commitment to circular waste practices.

Employing over 250 people and handling a quarter of a million tonnes of trade and commercial waste annually, Yorwaste plays a vital role in Yorkshire’s waste management ecosystem. By working with ESE, Yorwaste is reinforcing its dedication to sustainable waste management solutions that not only protect the environment but also serve the local communities and businesses it supports.

ESE’s innovative approach to manufacturing, which includes using CIRCULOGIC® ‘recycling colours’ and high levels of post-consumer recycled plastic, aligns seamlessly with Yorwaste’s mission. The containers offer a durable and environmentally responsible solution, significantly reducing reliance on virgin plastics.

Utilising innovative techniques in the cleaning, additives, and processing of recycled high-density polyethene (HDPE), the lifespan of one waste container can last 100 years. Not only do they match the quality of raw materials, but manufacturing is also much more sustainable – saving 100% crude oil and approximately 65% CO2 equivalent, and requiring roughly 88% less energy than virgin HDPE.

Overseas in Germany, the company’s same two- and four-wheel containers are also RAL-GZ 951/1 and Blue Angel certified – a testament to the stringent international quality standards set by ESE over the years, incorporating at least 80% certified post-consumer recycled plastic in its manufacturing processes.
