JMG Group hits £500m GWP milestone

JMG Group CEO, Nick Houghton

Yorkshire-headquartered JMG Group has reached a key milestone at the end of its financial year, hitting £500m Gross Written Premium (GWP) as the insurance broker sets its sights on achieving £1bn GWP within five years.

The achievement reflects the scale and momentum JMG Group has built in a relatively short period, completing more than 70 acquisitions since 2020. The group has combined its M&A pipeline with a focus on organic growth and integrating brokers in a way that supports their autonomy, expertise and local strength, ensuring acquired businesses continue to thrive after the deal.

The JMG Group leadership team believes this emphasis on people is critical, and the group has invested heavily in its structure to support the next phase of growth. Four internal promotions have elevated existing colleagues to regional managing directors, and a host of additional internal promotions have been made across a range of roles and group businesses.

“Developing talent from within and creating clear progression opportunities across the group will continue to be a priority,” says JMG Group CEO, Nick Houghton. “Reaching £500m GWP is a huge moment for our business and everyone who has been part of our journey. It reflects the strength of our approach and the outstanding work of our colleagues across the group.

“What’s particularly important is not just that we have grown, but how we have grown. We have a strong track record of doing exactly what we say we’ll do, which includes integrating our acquired businesses successfully for everyone involved and equipping them with opportunities and resources for growth.

“With over 70 acquisitions completed, we remain focussed on what comes next. If anything, reaching this milestone means we see more opportunities than ever before. Our ambition is to build a £1bn GWP business within the next five years, and any broker thinking about succession planning should contact us. We are actively looking to speak to likeminded, ambitious, regional commercial brokers who want to be part of a growing, supportive group.”
