Yorkshire business celebrates 100 years of ‘leading the weigh’

Yorkshire-based business, Marsden Weighing Solutions, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, marking a century of innovation that has taken the business from a single shop on London’s Harrow Road to a global supplier.

The company, which is based at the Genesis Business Park in Rotherham and employs more than 40 people, provides precision weighing scales to multiple sectors, ranging from medical, industrial and commercial, to veterinary, gym and health.

Marsden holds industry accreditations, including ISO and NAWI certification. It is also the proud owner of a Queen’s Award for Innovation and currently supports more than 200 contracts with NHS Trusts across the UK, as well as customers in more than 50 countries.

Since opening its doors in 1926, Marsden has built its reputation on precision-engineered weighing scales, rigorous attention to detail and a commitment to customer service, establishing itself as a market leader in the sector.

The company’s product range has grown to 400 current lines, from everyday bestsellers to pioneering developments, such as its body composition scales, which push body composition analysis to new levels of accuracy.

Marsden’s reach now extends well beyond the UK, with distributors in 22 countries carrying its equipment to customers around the world – all while the company’s manufacturing and operational base remains rooted at its 17,000sq ft site on the Sheffield Road in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
