Ilkley Bar reopens under original ownership

A weekend of live music marked the return of independent Ilkley bar The Yard, which formally reopened its doors earlier this month.

Local dignitaries and business leaders from the spa town were among the first to gain an exclusive preview of the day-to-night venue, which is tucked behind The Crescent Hotel and Bistro Pierre off Brook Street.

The venue is set to make a welcome return to Ilkley’s day and night scene after being taken back by its original owners.

Following a recent top-to-toe refurbishment, The Yard comprises a stylish main lounge, intimate orangery and a relaxing courtyard with spritz bar. On the first floor a second lounge gives access to a south-facing sun terrace with long distance views of Ilkley Moor; both first floor spaces are available for private hire.

Seasonal menus, cocktails, bottomless brunches and private hire are expected to broaden the appeal of the stylish town centre establishment. During the day, the bar will welcome families and dogs; in the evenings a blend of 80s, 90s and live music is expected to re-establish The Yard as Ilkley’s go-to destination for early doors and late nights.

The re-opening of the popular all-day venue signals a return to the ownership of local operators, Twisted Bars, which also owns the Ticket Office in Ilkley and Everybody’s in Guiseley.

The Yard, which employs around a dozen staff, will be overseen by Chris Risbey, General Manager of The Ticket Office.

The Yard is open Wednesday and Thursday from 12 noon to 11pm, Friday and Saturday, from 12 noon till late and on Sundays from 12 to 11pm.

From Friday 18th April the Yard will serve classic bar food with modern twist, including a casual lunch menu and informal evening menu. Food will be available Wednesday to Saturday from 12 noon to 9pm and on Sundays from 12 noon till 5pm.

Music will be a prominent feature of weekend evenings, including DJ sets, with live music acts performing from 9pm to 11pm every Friday.
